Events.

For each event please dress appropriately for the weather conditions and wear comfortable sturdy and possibly water-tight footwear.  All are welcome to all of our events.

Sunday Lunch Out (Sunday, August 9th 2009). Time 1230hrs.   Meet at the picnic area. Bring some grub for yourself and others if you wish to share. You must bring a cuddly toy! Meet new friends and bask in a lovely Sunday alternative to roast dinners. All welcome.

That Evening Picnic (Wednesday, August 12th 2009). Time 1830hrs.   Meet at the picnic area. Bring some grub for yourself and others if you wish to share. You must bring a cuddly toy! Meet new friends and bask in a lovely Summer's evening (weather permitting... but turn up anyway). All welcome. Lantern launch expected at dusk.

Photography/Arty Picnic (Wednesday, August 19th 2009). Time 1830hrs.  Meet at the picnic area. Bring some grub for yourself and others if you wish to share. Bring your cameras, digital or not - or even take advantage of the pencils/crayons to hand to sketch away. Let's take some pictures and enjoy a Summer's evening. If you even wish, you can submit your photograph for inclusion on this very website.

General Meetings (8/9/2009) Time 1900hrs. Meet at Levenshulme Baptist Church, Elmsworth Avenue (off Broom Lane), Levenshulme.  Tuesday night general meeting in order to create order and help Highfield.  All welcome. 

Hot Pot Trot (27/9/2009) Time 1330hrs. Meet at the Crayfield Road entrance to the Fallowfield Loopline, Levenshulme.  Advance bookings only. £3 per ticket includes refreshment and Hot Pot. All welcome. Book via Email:  highfieldlnr @ supanet.com (Please remove spaces). Please book by no later than the 7th of September 2009. Vegetarian Hot Pot available on request.

Hallowe'en Event IV: The Haunted Highfield Woods (Saturday 31/10/2009) Time 1700hrs-2000hrs. Top of Broom Avenue entrance to HCP.  Free. All welcome. Scary music, fancy dress, creepy crawl and apple-bobbing. Event to be confirmed. FARA (Four Avenues Residents Association) will be organising.

General Meetings (10/11/2009) Time 1900hrs. Meet at Levenshulme Baptist Church, Elmsworth Avenue (off Broom Lane), Levenshulme.  Tuesday night general meeting in order to create order and help Highfield.  All welcome. 

Mince Pie Walks Meetings (27/12/2009 TBC) Time 1330hrs. Meet at the Crayfield Road entrance to the Fallowfield Loopline, Levenshulme.  Event to be confirmed. Costs: TBA. Bookings: TBA.

Park Visit (TBC). Time TBC.   Meet at the Broom Avenue entrance. A coach trip to some far flung place.  Whether it is Etherow Country Park, Boggart Old Clough, Clayton Vale, Lyme Park or somewhere else is to be confirmed.  Your suggestions are welcome at each meeting.

Spring Events (5/4/2010, Bank Holiday TBC). Time TBA.   Meet at the picnic area. This is planned to be bigger than 2009's massively succesful event!

Weekly Health Walks (Every Saturday), 0930-1030hrs.  Meet at the Cringle Road entrance, Levenshulme.  In conjunction with the NHS Healthy Living Network South Manchester, Faye Franklin will be conducting health walks every Saturday from the 24th of January.  For more information ring Fay Franklin on 07846 659997 or just turn up.  There will be pedometers and weights available for the more serious and health-orientated walker!

Neighbourly events.

The Heap Project (every Wednesday). Workdays are every Wednesday 1100-1600hrs, and on the 3rd Sunday of every month: 18th Jan, 15th Feb, 15th March.
