Minutes of AGM meeting held on 15th January 2008

Attendance; 19 members

1. The chair welcomed everybody and reported 3 apologies.

2. The minutes of the meeting 21.11.06 were approved as a true record.

Matters Arising
* There were no matters arising.

Financial Report: was approved.

Chairman’s Report: The chair gave a verbal report of the previous 12 months in which he spoke of the improved relations with Manchester Leisure.
* Alec Cowan would like to thank Steve Downey and Ken Wilson for their support and hard work on behalf of the Friends group.
* We also have a new barrier on Highfield Rd entrance, which was funded by GMP.
* The stream has now been opened up, but Nelstrop Rd end is still potentially dangerous.
* The increased popularity of the park is evident by the wear and tear and poor condition of grass and woodland paths.
* Throughout the year various events have taken place some in partnership with 4A’s.Inspite of the weather these events were very successful.
* Not as much work as hoped for, has been achieved this year by the Friends, this is partly due to the intensification of the Hydrological Cycle in 2007(WE HAD A WET YEAR).

                              Alec Cowan as Chairman
                              Roy Pearson as Secretary
                              Dave Dewar as Treasurer

There being no other AGM business the meeting closed and was immediately followed by the ordinary meeting.
