Minutes of meeting held on 11th November 2008

1. The chair welcomed everybody and reported 2 apologies.

2. The minutes of the meeting 9. 9. 08 were approved as a true record.

Matters Arising
* Correction to item in minutes from last meeting, the Irish community provided the mini bus and not St Mary’s as stated.
* Grass cutting, AC said that the grass cutting on Highfield must be sorted out for 2009. PL explained the problems that they are having with the contractors.
* Visitors centre, it was explained that the Sherriff’s office provide grants for projects like this, a meeting is to be arranged with Len Howarth, P. Lloyd and AC to try and move this forwards.
* Flooding on Nelstrop, things are moving slowly and also some quotes have been received for a new barrier on Nelstrop.
* Halloween, again a good time was had by all and looks set to happen again next year.
* We now have new plastic covers for the lecterns but AC would like to try the new graffiti kits first.

Any other business  

1. Coppicing on Highfield, AC explained that this would take place on the park, but only in a small area to start with.
2. AC asked Pippa if she could ay something about M/C Leisure’s activities on the park. At this moment Pippa is waiting for Environmental agency to contact her about the stream.
3. Litter/ dog bins, AC reported that he was informed that extra bins could be funded from next years budget and asked Pippa to look in to this.
4. Website, John Acton has kindly volunteered to rebuild Highfield website and make it simpler to add to it. Thanks to John.
5. RP asked if Health walks could be put back on the schedule with the wardens, Pippa to look into possible dates with Tony.

The date of the next meeting will be on 13th January 2009. This meeting will include the AGM.
